Mike Smock is the founder of a strategy consultancy specializing in the application of maneuver theory to business process. Clients range from start-ups and small privately-held enterprises to large, publicly-traded, international conglomerates. The focus of the firm is conflict - small enterprises engaged in market share battles against larger better provisioned enterprises, and, industry leaders defending share against smaller, more agile, industry challengers. His firm developed a proprietary, battle proven methodology that utilizes maneuver theory to generate competitive advantage. The methodology which is based upon the theories of John Boyd, speed up competitive cycles, allowing combatants to shape the conflict to their advantage and the disadvantage of their adversary. In his early career he spent 15 years in senior management positions with major national and international enterprises and was the founder or co-founder of several start-ups. Mike was Chairman and CEO of an engineering services firm and spent several years in Asia negotiating trade agreements in China, Japan and Taiwan. He runs PulseO2DA Strategic Services operations.
The History of Pulse.
The Pulse principals originally met back in 2001 over a shared appreciation for John Boyd and William Lind. At that time, Danielowski was working in the private sector for a federal agency which specialized in anti-terrorism tactics utilized to protect national resources. The attacks of 9/11 compelled him to re-enter the defense business as a private security contractor. Over the next several years the principals conducted an on-going conversation regarding the application of John Boyd's "OODA" loop to business and military operations. The result of these conversations led to the development of a business concept for a firearms training group that was originally presented to a major security contractor. Initially called "O2DA Training" (in tribute to John Boyd), the concept was to provide firearms training to private citizens. While there are many firearms training options available today, the distinguishing feature of O2DA was it's application of maneuver warfare theory to reality-based firearms training. The development of the business concept and methodology was refined and continued while Ron worked in both Afghanistan and Iraq. The summer of 2010 saw the finalization of what is now called Pulse O2DA and was formally launched October 15, 2010 with a full slate of training courses and security services.
Supporting Ron Danielowski in both curriculum development and training operations are senior instructors Mark Rahzen and Tim Sayer. All three worked at Blackwater in Afghanistan and/or Iraq.
